Mande, director general of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, explained what an airborne virus means, amid fears that Covid might be transmissible by air.

The World Health Organisation has 'acknowledged emerging evidence' that the virus may be airborne.

WHO's Technical Lead on Covid-19, Maria Van Kerkhove has also promised a detailed brief on the subject soon.

Mande explained that when Covid patients speak, they might be releasing infectious aerosols which stay suspended in air and infect others.
