Locals rescue calf stranded inside water well in central India

Locals in Madhya Pradesh, central India rescued a calf stranded down a well on July 7.

The incident took place at a well in the vicinity of Rani Lakshmi Bai Girls' School in Chhatarpur.

According to reports, the calf fell into the well and was left stranded until a local spotted the animal.

After spotting the calf, the local resident called on his friends for help.

Footage of the incident shows a man tying a rope to his waist and rappelling down the well.

He is then seen tying the rope to the calf's back and neck.

After several attempts, locals at the top manage to haul the man and calf out of the well.

Reports suggest the calf suffered minor injuries from the fall.
