Black Lives Matter protest in New Hartford

Dozens gathered Tuesday afternoon to protest racism after a viral video shows a local man making racist remarks.

Hartford police say about half hour after wardell yelled racial slurs in utica....he drove to the village of new hartford and yelled racist remarks at a black man walking on the sidewalk on oxford road.

Several people gathered on that spot in the village today, for a black lives matter rally.

Black and white people were there, shouting, 'black lives matter' at passing cars, some of which honked their horns in support.

What that black man endured here over the weekend is what brought them out, today.

Police say the wardell took his statements to another level with his male target.
