CCTV captures moment two youths assault and mug unsuspecting man in southern India

Two people were caught on camera assaulting a man before robbing him, in southern India's Tamil Nadu.

The incident took place in Ponnammapet of Salem district on June 22.

CCTV footage shows the man walking on a deserted road when two youths arrive on a bike and start charging at the man.

One punches him after pinning him on the ground, the other carries out the robbery.

Shocked by the sudden attack, the man still manages to get to his feet.

After noticing the victim return to his feet one of the robbers lands a flying kick on the man.

According to local reports, the victim named Saravanan works as an ambulance driver at a private hospital.

He was returning home when the incident took place and was robbed of a mobile phone and cash worth Rs 2000 (USD 26.46).

The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
