Thai man finds albino toad which he says is his lucky charm

A Thai man was delighted after being offered a 50,000THB (1,300GBP) for his rare albino toad which he says is his lucky charm.

The toad owner Prawit Ngamsaengkaew, 33, was given the amphibian by his brother who caught from a field nearby his house in Mukdahan, northeastern Thailand in May.

He said: "My brother brought all the toads he caught to my house and asked me to help him sort them out.

"Then we found this albino toad with white skin and red eyes which stood out from the rest.

My brother thought we should release it back but I had a feeling that I should keep it." Prawit believes that the toad is responsible for his good luck after winning two lottery draws consecutively.

He also became popular among the local gamblers because of it.

The owner said he even received a 50,000THB (1,300GBP) offer to buy his lucky charm amphibian but he refused.

He said: "They thought that the toad is the source of my recent good luck after winning lottery prizes in two consecutive draws.

"My neighbours heard about how it has brought me good luck so they started to be interested in it.

They offered me money to buy it and the highest offer so far was 50,000THB (1,300GBP).

"However, I decided not to sell it because it is rare to find a toad like this."
