Watch: Locust swarms spotted in several areas of Gurugram

Thousands of crop-eating desert locusts spotted in Gurugram.

Pests were seen flying over Sector 5 in Palam Vihar.

Locusts were spotted in areas along Gurugram-Dwarka Expressway.

Faridabad Sector 30 also witnessed clusters of locusts.

The short-horned grasshoppers cause widespread crop damage.

Earlier, locusts also affected Rajasthan, Gujarat, MP, UP and Maharashtra.

Centre has asked states to step up aerial spray using drones and helicopters.

Desert locusts are known to devour everything in their path.

Locusts pose a threat to food supply and people's livelihoods.
