New York City Marathon Canceled Due to COVID-19

New York City Marathon Canceled Due to COVID-19 The world’s largest marathon has officially been canceled over concerns about the spread of the coronavirus.

New York Road Runners CEO Michael Capiraso and other organizers hoped to postpone, but they ultimately decided to cancel to avoid spending more funds.

Michael Capiraso, via ‘The New York Times’ The race was set to celebrate its 50th anniversary in November.

Runners who signed up for this year’s race will be able to receive a refund or defer their entry for the next three years.

Organizers also plan to hold a virtual race, with details to be released in July.
