Emotional moment US kid asks stepdad to adopt him as Father's Day gift

A 17-year-old is brought to tears as he asks his stepdad to adopt him.

Donzell Powell, from Suffolk, Virginia, was surprised by Keon Wiggins, who reads a letter he penned to Powell, before getting emotional and unable to hold back tears.

Wiggins can be heard asking: “Where do I start?

I love you with everything in me.

"You’re my dad, my father, my OG, my mentor, you’re everything to me.

“I thank god that you met my mom and did not give up on her or me.

It takes a different kind of man to accept the responsibility that you did.

“If it was not for you, I promise you I’d either be in jail or dead.

You saved my mother and I.

You blessed me with a happy life.

"I want you to adopt me as your own.

By adopting me, you become my legal father and earn all creditability for that man that I have become." After a long embrace, Powell responds: “Hell yeah!" Mom, Keona Powell, along with other family members clap and celebrate in this beautiful moment recorded by Wiggins little sister on Father's Day (June 21).
