Armed off-duty cop arrested outside occupied Robert E Lee monument in Virginia

Protesters continue to occupy Lee Circle in Richmond, Virginia, demanding that the statue of the Confederate general be removed.

The filmer commented: "We covered the events around the statue for two days and only saw police presence when they stormed the building after an off-duty Airport Police Officer was armed on the roof.

He was taken into custody.

"The protesters have armed security patrolling in case of right-wing agitators, and the system for removing bad actors from the crowd is to surround them and guide them away.

"At night they projected pictures and videos onto the Monument, also broadcasted Martin Luther King, Jr's "How long, Not long" speech and an interview with Angela Davis about violence and revolution.

"On the second day a new sign was placed in the occupied area reading, "Welcome to beautiful Marcus-David Peters Circle" indicating that the name has been changed."
