Two Congress MLAs from Gujarat resign ahead of Rajya Sabha polls

Ahead of the Rajya Sabha polls slated to be held on 19 June, two Congress MLAs have resigned from the party.

The Speaker of the Gujarat Assembly Rajendra Trivedi said that the resignations were voluntary and there was no pressure or allurement involved.

The resignation of the two MLAs is a setback to the Congress' chances of winning the two out of four Rajya Sabha seats up for grabs.
