Poll Reveals 50% of Americans Are Willing to Take a COVID-19 Vaccine As of May 27, there have been over 100,000 reported deaths related to COVID-19 in the U.S. The pandemic has infected over 1.7 million people in the country.

A poll by the Associated Press-Norc Center for Public Affairs Research was conducted from May 14-18.

Of the 1,056 adults who participated, one in five have no interest in getting the vaccine.

31% said they were not sure if they wanted the vaccine when it becomes available.

One participant admitted they were afraid of side effects despite not being personally opposed to vaccinations.

The survey also says that 61% of people believe a COVID-19 vaccine will debut sometime next year.

President Trump has promised that by January 2021, there will be 300 million doses of a vaccine.
