Vande Bharat Mission: Stranded Indians board special flight from US to return home

Over 240 stranded Indians on May 13 boarded the special Air India flight from Washington DC to fly back home as part of Vande Bharat Mission amid the travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.

These Indians had been stuck in the United States amid the spread of the coronavirus but now they are coming back to India.

The passengers included students, women, children and senior citizens.

As many as 28,000 Indian citizens stranded in the US have expressed their interest in travelling back to India.

Vande Bharat Mission is India's biggest ever repatriation exercise amid the travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
