'Harry Potter' fans are freaking out over this 'Mandela Effect' scene

A “Harry Potter” fan is dividing social media users after sharing a video of a scene that many say they can’t remember watching. The clip, shared on TikTok by a user named Kristina Marie Claire, was recorded during a Syfy channel showing of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire".In the scene, Harry, Ron, Hermione and the rest of Hogwarts are welcoming visitors from other wizarding schools.whose students perform a series of elaborate magic acts as they arrive.

After that, Claire’s moment of now-shared confusion begins.“So then Hogwarts does this thing that I don’t remember happening at all,” she says in her clip. That “thing” is, essentially, a musical number.

The entire student body breaks into a Hogwarts-themed song.Claire says in the clip that despite having seen the movie several times, she has no recollection of the scene or the song.which features lyrics like: “Hogwarts, Howgarts, hoggy warty Hogwarts, teach us something please".It turns out Claire wasn’t alone in her reaction.

Her video, which has been viewed nearly 500,000 times, drew countless comments from equally confused fans. Some users suggested that the scene was an example of the “Mandela Effect,” a phenomenon in which a group of people claims to have a shared, false memory.Other “HP” fans had a more grounded technical explanation, suggesting that the singalong was part of an extended version or a deleted scene that was added for TV syndication.“There’s a reason why they cut it,” one user joked
