Ghats look deserted on occasion of 'Akshaya Tritiya' amid lockdown

Very few devotees took holy dip in Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj and river Ganga in Varanasi on the occasion of 'Akshaya Tritiya' amid nationwide lockdown to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

"People are locked in their houses and if they get out they will catch the disease.

There is no crowd at sangam, hardly one-two people," said the Priest at Sangam Ghat.

Akshaya Tritiya is an annual spring time festival of the Hindus and Jains.
