NYC Frontline Nurse Sleeps In Attic To Protect Family

The coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic has infected over 100,000 people in New York state.

According to Business Insider, many frontline healthcare workers say they don't feel safe going into work there.

Some healthcare workers have actually sickened and died from the virus.

Others complain of a lack of personal protective equipment.

Manhattan nurse Diana Torres has moved into her home's attic to avoid exposing her family when she gets off work.

I don't care where I sleep or how I sleep, how much space I have.

We come from humble beginnings, but I just need to be with my family wherever that may be and I can't.

Mount Sinai West Hospital, Manhattan, New York City Torres says she tried to raise concerns about how seriously the virus could potentially hit New York weeks ago.

However, she said her concerns were disregarded by management at her hospital, who she says did not prepare enough for the pandemic.
