Facebook launches UK coronavirus survey

Facebook launches UK coronavirus survey Facebook have launched a survey asking selected UK users whether they have had symptoms of the coronavirus.

The social networking site has teamed up with Carnegie Mellon University in an effort to track the spread of COVID-19.

The survey - which first launched in the US on April 6 with around a million responses per week – was rolled out across the UK yesterday.

Users have been quizzed about their health and whether they have experiences any of the common symptoms of the respiratory illness, including a fever or persistent cough.

The university's analysts will look to use data from the surveys "within a few weeks" in a bid to forecast how many hospital and intensive care admissions are expected in certain areas.
