Cows wander around ghost city in the Philippines due to COVID-19 lockdown

A herd of cows were seen walking along the deserted streets of a neighbourhood in the Philippines due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Footage shows the animals trudging along in single file in Baguio City on April 5 during the COVID-19 coronavirus lockdown.

Residents heard the unusual "moos" of the cows in their village so some of them went to their windows and checked what was happening outside.

Jonard Jardenil said: "We can't go out to take the cows back to the pastures, but we are confident that they know how to go home.

"The cows may have let themselves out of the nearby farm and reached our village because no one was there to check on them." Officials in the Philippines have enforced strict lockdown, travel ban and curfew to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
