COVID-19 curfew violators punished to waddle down street in the Philippines

This is the bizarre moment curfew violators in the Philippines were punished by being forced to waddled around their neighbourhood in a squatting position.

Seven men were caught out and about during COVID-19 curfew hours in Antipolo, Rizal on Saturday (April 11), breaking rules for residents to stay inside on weekends.

In the video, the men are lined up while squatting and using their hands to hold their ears.

They were then told to walk down the street in that position.

Village official Eugene Novela, 25, said: "We want to keep our village safe so we are doing our best to make everyone follow the rules.

"The violators may have been punished but we made sure they maintain their distance while doing the squats." Quarantine measures are being enforced in major regions to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the Philippines.
