We started working about a month ago to get the supply lines for the ingrediants set up so we could do this commercially."

The fda and the tax and trade bureau recently made adjustments on the formation of hand sanitizer to accomadate for distilleries wanting to help with the shortage.

"gate 11 is using a hand sanitizer formula approved by the world health organization.

It's really simple, it's a high proof alcohol, glycerin, hydrogen peroxide and water, and our final alcohol content is 80% so basically the high proof alcohol dissolves the virus bodies in and kills them."

After its made, the distillery distributes it locally to those who need it the most.

"gate 11 we set this program up primarily to focus on first responders and local public health priorities, that's why we sold our first load of 250 gallons to hamilton county first responders and beyond that, we focus on the needs in the city of chattanooga."

Many other distilleries across are doing their part as well to help with the sanitizer shortage, thus, creating a shortage of supplies needed to make the sanitizer.

"i wish i would have bought that 4000 maybe 5000 gallons now because alcohol is the supply thats limiting and our normal suppliers are basically don't have anything for us right now."

Gate 11 is currently making their hand sanitizer only in large bulks, and are taking orders.
