Many soon to be parents are worried about their ability to give birth with their partners or a support person present.

According to Business Insider, they are also concerned about shielding their newborns from the coronavirus.

The concern has created a surge in requests for midwives and homebirths.

If a parent-to-be is near their due date, midwives do not advise suddenly switching your hospital birth plan to a home birth.

Midwives warn that switching at the last minute or in the last few months of pregnancy could be dangerous.
