Coronavirus in UK could meet Hubei province levels

Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee and former Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt has claimed the coronavirus outbreak in the UK could reach similar levels to those seen in Hubei province, China, where the outbreak originated.

This would see approximately 13 million people in the UK, 20% of the population, contract the virus.

Mr Hunt cautioned people as to how to avoid transmission of the virus on public transport and other public spaces with basic hygiene routines.
