UPDATE: Authorities identify suspect killed in shooting near Nevada border

Authorities also identified the suspect in the shooting on I-15 near the Nevada border as 27-year-old Madison Adams, of Tehachapi.

Police say he is the son of Guadalupe Adams, a 55-year-old woman found dead in her home in Tehachapi, Calif.

The investigation remains ongoing.

As for traffic on Interstate 15, the Nevada Highway Patrol says northbound travel lanes at Nipton Road are back open.
