UK: Five migrants drown in an attempt to cross the English Channel | Sunak Rwanda Policy| Oneindia
Tragic news emerged as at least five individuals, including a child, lost their lives while attempting to cross the perilous waters of the English Channel from France. This devastating incident occurred merely hours after the passage of a bill in Britain aimed at deporting asylum seekers to Rwanda, in a bid to dissuade such perilous crossings. The victims, comprising one child, a woman, and three men, were aboard an overcrowded small boat carrying approximately 110 people, endeavouring to traverse one of the globe's busiest shipping lanes. As the French coast guard continues its search for survivors, the profound tragedy underscores the perilous risks faced by migrants seeking refuge across borders. "After becoming initially stranded on the shore, the boat set out to sea again. A crowd movement apparently occurred in the overloaded boat, causing several victims" (DISPLAY ON SCREEN) a coast guard official said. #EnglishChannelTragedy #MigrationCrisis #CrossingPerils #UKMigrantDeaths #SunakPolicy #RwandaDeportation #ChannelCrossingRisk #MigrationSafety #UKAsylumDebate #MigrantRights ~PR.152~ED.103~GR.123~HT.318~
