Donald Trump’s Inauguration: EAM Jaishankar to Join Meloni, Javier Milei in Grand Celebrations
On January 20, 2025, India's External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar will attend the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Donald Trump as the United States prepares for its 60th presidential inauguration. Jaishankar, who has been invited by the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee, will represent the Indian government at this historic event. He is expected to meet with key members of the incoming Trump administration, along with other international dignitaries. Notable global leaders, including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Argentine President Javier Milei, have also received invitations. The inauguration will take place at the West Front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., and will be followed by a range of official events, including an inaugural address, executive orders, a traditional luncheon, a military review, and a grand parade along Pennsylvania Avenue.
