Kolkata rape-murder case: SC asks protesting doctors to resume work by Sept 10, CBI told to file fresh status report

The Supreme Court instructed the CBI to file an updated status report on the investigation into the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata by September 17. It criticized the West Bengal government for mishandling evidence and noted that an ongoing doctors' strike, protesting the incident, has resulted in 23 deaths.

Kolkata RG Kar Hospital Case: CBI Claims No Gang-Rape Took Place; Sanjay Roy's DNA Report Out
The CBI's investigation into the Kolkata doctor Rape and Murder case is nearing completion, with DNA evidence linking Sanjay Roy to the crime. CFSL experts confirmed a match, and AIIMS is reviewing the findings. The probe revealed Roy acted alone, and over 100 statements were recorded. The CBI conducted 10 polygraph tests to ensure thoroughness. Once AIIMS provides its final opinion, a charge sheet against Roy is expected soon.
