The flood situation in Assam has worsened significantly over the past 24 hours, with 52 people reported dead and several thousands left homeless, according to ANI. Over 24 lakh people have been affected across the state, with 30 out of 35 districts severely impacted by the second wave of floods. The situation has been grim for the past month, leading to the loss of lives, destruction of infrastructure, crop damage, and loss of livestock. Thousands of people remain internally displaced and homeless across the northeastern state.
