Kanchanjungha Express, arrived at its destination station, Sealdah in Kolkata, in the early hours today after the completion of restoration work. A goods train allegedly disregarded a signal and hit the Sealdah-bound Kanchanjungha Express on Monday.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his condolences for the tragic collision involving the Kanchenjunga Express and a goods train near Rangapani station in West Bengal. A special train has left the accident site for Sealdah, according to the Railway PRO, who noted that most of the passengers are from Malda and Bolpur. The collision has resulted in at least 15 fatalities and around 60 injuries.
