Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA held after ignoring 100 NBWs, first issued in 1997

UP police arrested Samajwadi Party's Meerut city MLA from Barabanki after he failed to appear in court despite 100 warrants. Rafiq Ansari's arrest follows an Allahabad HC order. Ansari is accused in a criminal case dating back to 1995, involving charges of rioting and mischief.
