Delhi inferno: 800 factory fires recorded in city in last 2 years

In the last two years, there have been 800 fire incidents in unauthorised factories in Delhi. No corrective measures have been taken despite accidents. These factories operate without a no-objection certificate and collude with authorities. Fire department data reveals around 400 fire incidents annually.

A devastating blaze erupted Thursday evening at a paint factory situated in Dayalpur Market, Alipur, North Delhi, claiming the lives of at least eleven individuals. Four others, including a police officer injured during the rescue operation, were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Officials from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) reported receiving the distress call about the factory fire around 5:30 pm, prompting the deployment of 22 fire tenders to the scene.
