The National Conference's decision to go solo in the polls follows similar moves by Mamata Banerjee's TMC and Arvind Kejriwal's AAP, underscoring a growing internal divide within the coalition of 28 parties led by the INDIA bloc. Abdullah emphasised the party's firm stance on contesting elections based on its own merits, leaving no room for ambiguity.
