Maldives alleges Indian Coast Guard got on fishing boats in Maldivesโ Economic Zone | Oneindia
The Maldivian government has officially requested New Delhi to provide information about an incident involving Indian Coast Guard personnel boarding three Maldivian fishing vessels within its economic zone without prior communication with relevant authorities. The Maldives defence ministry addressed the issue in a statement on Friday (Feb 2), stating, "On Feb. 1, 2024, the foreign ministry of the Maldives has asked (India) officially for the details of the operation that was carried out while Maldivians were fishing in the Maldivian exclusive economic zone, without any coordination with the relevant authorities and against all international laws."
