Wielding power cut threat, crook cheats man of Rs 2.5 lakh

A cybercrook masquerading as a Bescom staffer siphoned off Rs 2.5 lakh from a 58-year-old electronics engineer by sending him an SMS threatening power disconnection. The engineer received the SMS from an unknown number and replied that he had already made the payment.
