BBC staff to launch new company for Indian language services

GM’s Cruise Robotaxi Unit Fires 9 Executives , Amid Safety Investigation. Cruise has let go of nine "key leaders" as the company is investigated over safety concerns, CNBC reports. . According to an internal message, "new leadership is necessary" so that the company can operate "with the highest standards when it comes to safety, integrity and accountability." . The recent firings come after an Oct. 2 accident in California in which a pedestrian was dragged by a Cruise vehicle after being hit by another car. Cruise's deployment and testing permits were immediately suspended by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. . Shortly after, Cruise removed all of its vehicles from American roadways. . The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and California Public Utilities Commission are investigating Cruise over the Oct. 2 incident. The company may have withheld or provided misleading information about the accident, which would result in hefty fines and regulatory issues. According to GM CEO Marry Barra, they are "very focused on righting the ship.". GM issued a statement about the recent staff changes. The personnel decisions made today are a necessary step for Cruise to move forward as it focuses on accountability, trust and transparency.
