team appealed the conviction, arguing
that he didn't receive a fair trial due
to prejudice caused by publicity. .
The other former officers convicted of being
involved in Floyd's murder were given "lesser state
and federal sentences," 'The Guardian' reports.
Chauvin's legal team also alleged that there
was juror misconduct, claiming they only
found Chauvin guilty to deter threats
of violence made by the public.

rejected the conviction appeal.

on its decision.
Chauvin has also submitted a conviction
appeal "on federal civil rights charges,"

Chauvin's actions, in which he knelt on Floyd's
neck for nearly 10 minutes until he died,
were caught on video in May 2020.
The incident sparkled global outrage and gave
renewed life to the Black Lives Matter movement
