Uttarakhand Tunnel Collapse: Heavy Drill Machines Brought To Save Trapped Workers In Uttarkashi

Rescue operations are ongoing to evacuate 40 workers trapped inside a collapsed tunnel in Uttarakhand for over 48 hours now. Videos from the spot showed huge piles of concrete blocking the tunnel, twisted metal bars from its broken roof buried in rubble creating more obstacles for rescue workers - who are mostly migrants from Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.  JCB machines are being used to remove debris and open the tunnel. The collapse occurred late at night, resulting in the labourers being stuck inside.
