Anantnag Encounter Update: According to reports, Army Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish, Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Humayun Bhat were critically injured in the gunfight and died later.

For the last three days, the Indian Army has been carrying out counter-terror operations in J&K. On September 13, India lost three security personnel in a gunfight against terrorists in J&K’s Anantnag. Col Manpreet Singh and Major Aashish Dhonchak of 19 RR and DSP Humayun Bhat of J&K Police laid down their lives. Meanwhile, the Indian Army has intensified search operations to neutralise terrorists hiding in Kokernag. Kashmir Zone Police informed that two terrorists were shot dead by the forces on September 16 in Baramulla. Defence expert raised eyebrows and questioned the timing of these terror activities as India has successfully concluded G20 Leaders’ Summit.
