Himachal Pradesh landslides: Toll rises to 60, many houses collapse in Shimla and Mandi districts

Himachal Pradesh reported 60 deaths since Monday of which 23 deaths were reported from Mandi district while 17 deaths occurred in Shimla district.

Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reports 60 casualties resulting from rain-related incidents since the onset of landslides and continuous rainfall. In Mandi district, the second-highest death toll stands at 24 as a consequence of the devastating landslides. Himachal Pradesh University has suspended teaching activities until August 19. More rainfall is expected for the next 4 days. The Indian Army is conducting flood relief operations in various districts, including Shimla, Fatehpur, Indora, and Kangra.
