Incessant and heavy rainfall pounded most parts of the country. The downpours prompted the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue heavy rain alerts for the next five days in various states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka, and Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, a fresh landslide occurred on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near the Kamshet tunnel on Thursday night.
