'INDIA' vs 'NDA' to come down to a no-confidence motion in the Parliament? | Oneindia News
Amid the political stalemate over the issue of Manipur, the grand opposition alliance, INDIA, an acronym for’ Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’, is all set to move a no-confidence motion against the ruling regime in this monsoon session. This would be a huge political development as it would be the first time in last 20 years that a notice to move a no-confidence motion would be given. The last time a no-confidence motion was initiated was in 2003 against the Atal Bihari Vajpayee govt. Sources familiar with the development claim that after weighing various options to force Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak in Parliament on the situation in strife-torn Manipur, it was decided that moving a no-confidence motion would be an effective way to compel the government to initiate a discussion on the issue. The floor leaders of opposition parties held a meeting on Tuesday morning to discuss their strategy amid the logjam between the oppositions and the government over the Manipur issue. The meeting was held in the chamber of the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge. Congress and other opposition parties have been demanding a detailed discussion on the situation in Manipur and a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They have resorted to protests and sloganeering in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, forcing adjournments of the two Houses since the commencement of the monsoon session of Parliament on July 20. The BJP parliamentary party has also met today morning to discuss its strategy in the House, after five days of the monsoon session so far being marked by stalled proceedings. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present at the meeting. #Noconfidencemotion #Noconfidencemotionloksabha #INDIAvsNDA ~HT.99~PR.153~ED.103~
