As the Yamuna flood waters retreated from the highways, a number of national capital roads that had been closed to traffic on Saturday were reopened, officials said.

The Yamuna in Delhi has risen to an all-time high of 208.46 meters on Thursday. It has submerged low-lying areas and prompted evacuation measures. The Central Water Commission or CWC has called it an extreme situation as the water flow into Yamuna is expected to peak on Thursday (July 13).
