Delhi rains: More misery? IMD issues yellow alert for Saturday

Some parts of the city saw light rain on Thursday. The intensity of the rain is likely to increase on Saturday and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a "yellow alert" for moderate rain, which may aggravate the flood situation in the city.

The water level of Yamuna in Delhi breached the danger mark. The rive is now hovering at 206.24 metres while the danger mark is at 205.33 metres. According to the Central Water Commission (CWC), this has triggered a high alert in Delhi. The development came as more rain was predicted in the city for the entire week after three continuous days of torrential downpours, which triggered waterlogging in several areas.
