Alert after Khalistani elements circulate pictures of two diplomats in Canada

An alert has been sounded and security of key officials at Indian missions in some countries is being reviewed after pro-Khalistan elements circulated posters with the names and photographs of two Indian diplomats posted in Canada, holding them responsible for the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar last month.

Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar warned Canada against giving space to Khalistani elements. His statement came after it came to light that Khalistani threat posters in Canada were featuring names of Indian diplomats. Jaishankar said that the Indian government had reached out to partner countries like Canada and the United Kingdom and requested them to not give space to Khalistani groups. He warned this would affect relations between the countries.
