At least 11 people have died after a cyclone hit the French territory of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean - as officials said the number of those killed "will be high".

Several dead as Cyclone Chido batters French Indian Ocean territory of Mayotte
Chido brought winds in excess of 220 kph, according to the French weather service, ripping roofs off houses in the archipelago which has a population of just over 300,000 and lies around 800km off Mozambique.
