Jordan Attack: Kataib Hezbollah, Iran-backed group allegedly behind strike on US troops | Oneindia
On January 28, a tragic drone attack in Jordan claimed the lives of three members of the United States troops. The U.S. has attributed the responsibility for this attack to the Iran-backed Iraqi militia Kataib Hezbollah. Specialists Kennedy Ladon Sanders, 24, Breonna Alexsondria Moffett, 23, and Sergeant William Jerome Rivers, 46, lost their lives in the incident, while numerous others sustained injuries. During a press briefing on Monday (Jan 29), Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh unequivocally pointed the finger at Iran, accusing the nation of enabling groups to carry out attacks against the United States. Singh emphasised the role of Iran-backed militia Kataib Hezbollah in this particular incident, stating that the evidence suggests Iran's active involvement in supporting and facilitating groups that pose a threat to U.S. interests.
