including at least 1,400 Israelis and 33 Americans. .
According to the Hamas-controlled Gaza health ministry,
over 8,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza,
in addition to another 110 people in the West Bank.
Fox News reports that at least ten U.S. citizens are
among the 239 people still held hostage by Hamas.
Acccording to an Israel Defense Forces spokesperson, more military forces are entering the Gaza Strip and are "directly engaging with terrorists.".
The IDF spokesperson reportedly added
that Israeli forces along the border with
Lebanon remain on "high alert."
