will reach 35 million globally by the year 2050.

Certainly the new estimates
highlight the scale of cancer today
and indeed the growing burden
of cancer that is predicted over
the next years and decades, Freddie Bray, head of cancer surveillance
at the IARC, via Al Jazeera.
The IARC's annual report, based on data from
185 countries and 36 types of cancer, found that there
were an estimated 9.7 million cancer deaths in 2022.
The IARC added that approximately one in five
people will develop cancer in their lifetime. .
According to the IARC, one in nine men and one in
12 women will ultimately die from the disease. .
