Typhoon Doksuri: Schools closed, flights suspended in parts of China

Typhoon Doksuri has made a landfall in China and has brought high winds and battering rains to coastal areas after the deadly storm bypassed Taiwan on its way from the Philippines. In the wake of this, China's national observatory has renewed a red alert for Typhoon Doksuri, the most severe warning in its four-tier warning system, as the fifth typhoon of this year is expected to cause widespread destruction to the eastern and southern parts of the country. China has a four-tier, color-coded weather warning system for typhoons, with red representing the most severe warning, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
