Department of Government Efficiency

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is an initiative of the second Donald Trump administration in the United States tasked with reducing federal spending. It was established on January 20, 2025, by an executive order renaming the United States Digital Service (USDS) to the United States DOGE Service (USDS), and establishing a temporary organization, the U.S. DOGE Service Temporary Organization (USDSTO), within USDS. The initiative established "DOGE teams" at federal agencies and aims to carry out spending cuts and "modernize federal technology and software to maximize governmental efficiency and productivity". USDSTO is scheduled to be dissolved on July 4, 2026.
