Police seize ganja worth Rs 1.2 crore at Tripura-Assam border

In yet another successful operation against drugs, the North Tripura district Police on February 01 seized 1200 kg ganja (marijuana) at the Tripura-Assam border.

The consignment worth around Rs 1.2 crore was hidden in an oil tanker with number NL-01-K-6532 (Nagaland registration).

"The vehicle and the consignment of ganja have been seized, a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) has been registered with the Churaibari police station and an investigation is on", said Bhanu Pada Chakraborty, SP, North Tripura district.

The arrested two persons have been identified as Umesh Singh and Pappy Ray from Bihar.
