The traditional Kashmiri gown "Pheran" with new designs is in great demand during the chilly winter seasons in Kashmir.

Despite the availability of new modern collections in the market, these traditional gowns are still in huge demand especially during this harsh period of winter also known as 'Chillai Kalan.'

Zareef Ahmad Zareef, a renowned cultural expert shares that the traditional Pheran is slowly fading.

These Pherans are worn for five to six months from November to March.
